On Monday a Myanmar military airstrike hit a market and a nearby bridge in Kyauktaw, northern Rakhine State, in an area held by the Arakan Army near Bangladesh. Early reports said 33 people were killed and 36 wounded. Later Arakan Army and rescue figures put the toll at 49 dead and 58 wounded, 22 of them critically.
