Privacy
We do not run ads, do not sell personal information, and do not use tracking pixels from ad networks.
Accounts
If you join or sign in, Settings, location, and puzzle scores are stored on your account. We keep a session cookie so you stay signed in. We do not keep the prefs cookie while you are signed in. Location is not stored for guests.
Cookies on this device
- Session — set when you sign in so the server knows it is you.
- spunzo_prefs — guests only: hide puzzles, which games are on, research mode. Lasts about a year. Removed when you sign in (those choices move to the account).
You can clear cookies in the browser. An older location cookie, if one is still on this device, is deleted. Clear on the location menu removes the place saved on your account.
What the server stores
- Page views: a hash of IP plus the calendar date (not a stored IP list). Used for coarse traffic counts.
- Puzzle plays: game id, score, duration, whether you finished, and the seed. Tied to your account when you are signed in.
- Accounts: email, display name, settings, and location for people who join. Staff accounts also run the desk.
What we do not do
No advertising cookies. No sale of data. No third-party analytics tags in the public pages. Source articles you open leave Spunzo; those sites have their own policies.
