Vinod, Neeru, and Neal Khosla took control of the defending Super Bowl champions on Thursday at an NFL-record $9.612 billion, eight days after owners unanimously approved the sale from Paul Allen’s estate.
The Khosla family closed its NFL-record $9.612 billion purchase of the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, becoming the franchise’s first new controlling owners since Paul Allen bought the team in 1997. Neeru Khosla is controlling owner and president of the Seahawks Charitable Foundation, Vinod Khosla is chair, and their son Neal is vice chair. NFL owners had approved the deal unanimously on Aug. 26. The family will be introduced Sept. 9 at Lumen Field before a Super Bowl LX rematch with New England. A dozen co-owners were named, including Sixth Street and Carlyle and Dynasty Equity at a reported 3% each.
