Nick Chubb came back to Berea on Friday, signed a one-day contract, and retired with the Browns. One outlet put the signing on Thursday.
Nick Chubb, the Browns' second-round pick in 2018, signed a one-day contract in Berea and retired as a Cleveland Brown. He had announced his retirement in August after eight NFL seasons, the last of them with the Houston Texans. A knee injury in 2023 and a broken foot in 2024 cut short his years as Cleveland's lead back. Touchdown Wire said the one-day signing was Thursday; the other accounts say Friday. The Browns plan to honor him at Sunday's home opener against the Carolina Panthers.
