The three-time Vezina winner and 2025 Hart Trophy goalie, who publicly asked for a trade on Aug. 27, was suspended Wednesday; GM Kevin Cheveldayoff will speak Thursday.
The Winnipeg Jets suspended goaltender Connor Hellebuyck on Wednesday for failing to report to training camp. Hellebuyck, a three-time Vezina Trophy winner and 2025 Hart Trophy MVP, went public with a trade request on Aug. 27. The team did not specify the length of the suspension. General manager Kevin Cheveldayoff is scheduled to address reporters Thursday morning.

Captain Adam Lowry told NHL.com on Sept. 8 that the Jets can't spend time worrying about Hellebuyck's situation and must focus on the season.
Lowry said that as long as Hellebuyck is a member of the Jets, the team will treat the situation as such.
Hellebuyck went 47-12-3 with a 2.00 GAA, .925 save percentage and eight shutouts in 63 games in 2024-25.
