Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded about 1 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, to a shots-fired call at a club in the 2700 block of Decker Boulevard in Dentsville, northeast of Columbia. Two people with gunshot wounds were found at the scene and taken to a hospital; six more gunshot victims were later reported at local hospitals, for eight wounded. Authorities did not name the club and had not announced arrests or a motive.

There have been multiple shootings at nightclubs and bars in the Columbia area in recent months.
On June 14, one person was killed and many more were injured in a shooting at the Jerk Hut at 1004 Zimalcrest Drive.
On Aug. 28, one person was hurt in a shooting at Vegas Knights at 3722 River Drive.
Of those, five were shooting victims, while the other victims were hurt when trampled by people rushing to exit the bar.
Eight people were injured, the sheriff’s department told The State.
On May 17, three people were shot, including a woman who died, at Ole Place at 3311 Two Notch Road.
On May 10, a man was shot and killed by a Forest Acres police officer outside Relapse Bar & Grill at 5024 Two Notch Road.
On May 13, a man was shot and killed by a security guard after he and a woman were thrown out of club Bar Code at 224 Oneil Court.
